What happens once you get #STUCK in Theaters?
There a strict requirements by the cable companies in order to qualify films in a GOOD POSITION when released on Video On Demand. The major prerequisite is a film MUST play in 6-10 major cities for at least one week. Once this happens, then #STUCK will be placed in the “NEW RELEASES” section. Prime real estate when you’re choosing what to watch on friday night. Also, #STUCK will be included in the million-dollar marketing campaigns by your cable provider, so you can catch it ON DEMAND at home. Now, in case you missed it in the theaters #STUCK will be available for you anytime… any you’ll actually have heard about it.
Why don’t you just sell #STUCK to a Studio?
Hollywood studios want major franchises, with famous actors, because they know they can pump millions of dollars into marketing and catch your attention. Every major Distributor said the same thing after seeing #STUCK - we love it, but it’s “too small” for us. Call us when you do something with Tom Cruise. Well maybe one day, but for now, I’m taking matters into my own hands and here we are…
What about VIDEO ON DEMAND, or DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION? Why Movie Theaters?
It’s true, now with Video on Demand, and Cable TV, and Digital internet distribution, there are more outlets than ever to distribute a movie… HOWEVER, that is a double edged sword. As a result, there are thousands more movies to choose from than ever before. Go ahead, check your ON DEMAND menu and tell me if you’ve heard of those films. The reason; the market is OVERsaturated.
So HOW does an award-winning film like #STUCK stand out above the noise?
By out of the box thinking. WHEN #STUCK plays in movie theaters, it will get reviewed by Critics, and will build an awareness that the film even exists. Without it, #STUCK will easily be lost and buried in that long list a films you’ll never hear of.
